Tavernas and Bars
The Yannis Taverna and Grill - Peroulades
A traditional Greek taverna where quality matters most.
Everything is cooked over charcoal - lamb, chicken, etc.
Recently completely renovated Yannis's taverna is even
centrally heated for chilly evenings. Yanni's has worked
as a waiter for many years and his father-in-law, George,
was a professional chief on cruise ships for over 30 years.
George does the cooking with Tassia, Yannis's wife.
Yanni also does many Greek specialities including
vegetarian dishes. In the evenings the locals gather to talk,
play cards and watch television. Join them, you will be made
very welcome.
Panorama (Sunset Beach) - Peroulades
Panorama Taverna is owned by Dimitis and both his sons Spiros and
George help out. The view from the cliffs at sunset is staggering if the
clouds are just right.
Try a snack or a drink at the bar with George or walk up the steps to
the taverna and meet Spiros. Watch your food being prepared
by Spiros(2) the cook. The food really IS First Class.
Panorama is a favourite haunt of Greeks on holiday from the mainland
but you will find most of the people have come from all over Europe just
to see the sunset. Better to get there about 7pm to be sure you don't miss it.
Dorella's Taverna - Melitsa - Peroulades
Dorella's is a few minutes walk out of Melitsa towards Peroulades.
A family run taverna where you will find a mixture of local Greek
people and tourists.
A very comfortable taverna where you feel relaxed away from the
noise and bustle of places nearer the sea. Irene the mother does
the cooking while Avlonitis and Yiannis, father and son serve and
have a chat with the customers.
Dorella's is an ideal rest point if you decide to walk to Peroulades.
Sit and relax while you listen to Greek music. Try the snacks or
eat some of the freshly prepared meals.
The Blue Sky Pool & Snack Bar - Melitsa - Peroulades
The Blue Sky Pool is run by Stamatis and his Irish wife Dianne. Together
they manage the apartments, pool and snack bar.
The little pool is pretty and very clean. There is an area for toddlers
and can be seen from the bar or tables.
At the bar you can get drinks and a light meal or snack. Dianne is
always willing to stop and talk about the local gossip and of course
her homeland.
The Blue Sky Pool is an ideal stop over on your way to Peroulades if
you feel like cooling off in the pool or having a snack.
