Roda is really in two parts. The area near the sea
is the old part where you can find small narrow streets,
little bars and taverna's. The taverna's along the sea front will
all try and entice you in to have traditional Greek meal allthough
they all do English food as well. Many of the bars are run by
English people who have made Roda their home. Sometimes
Roda seems more British than Britain. Further out towards the
main road the atmosphere changes. This is new Roda. The same
friendliness is there but the taverna's and bars are bigger and
perhaps have a younger clientel. With Roda you have a choice
of both the old and the new. I have been asked many times if
Roda might be a little too quiet. The answer is - No.
I have never had an email saying I was wrong. Roda is small
but if ever there is something missing for tourists the Greeks
soon fill the gap.
