St Stefanos has many visitors who return year after year.
They prefer the quieter atmospher of St Stefanos although
there is parsailing, windsurfing, water skiing and lovely walks
into the hills in the evening. San Stefanos has one of the best
beaches on Corfu which has a very gentle slope into the sea.
It is possible to wade out a very long way before any real depth
is found. This of course makes it ideal if you have young children.
Many families have made lasting friendships with the local Greek
people and find it hard to envisage a holiday anywhere else.
San Stefanos has a small harbour almost next door and you will
always find fishing boats and pleasure boats side by side. Many
fishermen from the local villages have boats moored here as it
is one of the few good harbours in the area.
There is a good selection of bars, restaurants, tavernas, shops,
etc. all within 10 miutes walk of the center. A few of the tavernas
are actually on the beach and always welcome those who are
exhausted from sunbathing. There is a wide selection of trips to
other villages, Corfu Town and the islands. If you take a walk into
the hills around sunset the view of San Stefanos, Arillas and the
small islands is stunning and well worth the effort.
This is an amature web site but I am going to take the liberty
of recommending Noula from San Stefano Travel. Noula knows
the UK well and has many friends here. She has helped us a great
deal and is a good friend who really knows her job. For more
information on what is available around San Stefanos please see
her web site.
